Bipartisan
Climate
Bill
The Senate is expected to take
up climate change legislation by spring.
A well crafted climate bill is urgently needed to reduce harmful
greenhouse gas emissions and head off the worst impacts of climate
change. Spin-off benefits will include cutting our country’s dangerous
dependence on oil and stimulating growth of energy technology
industries and jobs.
Please contact your senators. Ask them to work responsibly to develop a
bill that puts a price on carbon emissions, and returns most revenues
raised from emissions allowance sales or a carbon tax to the taxpayers.

"Republicans
for
Environmental Protection represents the very best of the Republican
Party. It's pragmatic. It advocates policies that are good in their own
right. It represents the mainstream of Republican thought. I encourage
all conservation-minded Republicans to join me in supporting REP's
work." —
Theodore Roosevelt IV, Lifetime Member
"I
applaud the
terrific
work you are doing to restore the Republican Party's conservation
tradition and advance responsible environmental policies. Our country
has made the most progress in protecting our environment when
Republicans have been strong leaders, and we need that leadership now
more than ever. I fully support your organization's critically
important mission." —
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
